We met this beautiful girl Kali down at Chaffinch Island Park in Guilford CT. She is the new foster pup of our friend Linda who fosters each summer. We were told Kali was a very shy girl and she wasn’t very fond of men, so we decided to put on our longer lenses so we (John) didn’t make her uncomfortable. After a few minutes with us, though, she actually did settle down and seemed a lot more at ease around John – even went on a short leash walk with him. After the session, Linda told us she posted Kali’s flyer at a local coffee shop, and someone wanted to meet her! She was adopted right away, yay! We love being able to help a pup find their forever home!
Our friend Linda signs-on to foster at least one pup each summer. She is a teacher and has summers off, so it allows her time to socialize a them, and get to know what type of family would be best for them. This day, we met Molly! Molly is a super sweet little “mutt” with the cutest pointiest ears! She has great manners, and would make a lucky family very happy! Shortly after this photo session, she was adopted! Yay! We love being able to give back and help a deserving pup find their forever home.
This was one of those sessions that are always so hard to get through! When we got the call from Romeo’s mom, she said he was battling cancer and she wanted to get a few professional images of him to remember him by. This always makes a session more challenging – not just from an expectation standpoint, but an emotional one too. I’m glad we were able to spend time getting to know Romeo and his sister Jasmine, and I hope that we were able to capture his spirit for his mom. Sadly, Romeo passed away shortly after this session.
When we met Handsome Dan XVIII (a.k.a. Walter), we felt like we were in the presence of a “rock star”! Everywhere we walked around Yale University campus, we were met with pup’arazzi and onlookers galore! This little puppy is the new mascot for Yale Athletics, but is every bit just a regular dog who enjoys playing, running, chewing and just being a pup! We wanted to create a session where he could be just that – a regular pup! Since Walter already had a few “official” photo sessions with Yale’s own photographer, we wanted to do something a little different, so we traipsed around campus with him and his dad Kevin, looked for a quiet space and had a blast!
We met up with Pepper and her mom at a park near their home. Her mom wanted capture a few photos of Pepper the way she is – a tough, strong, loving, majorly cuddly, sweet, protective, playful, loyal and spirited dog, so she and Pepper’s dad can have something to cherish forever. Pepper has been dealing with some pretty major health issues lately; sciatica, arthritis, liver infection, and unfortunately cancer! I hope that they keep these images close to their hearts. Pepper was truly a joy to photograph!
